Description
FAIRPORT CONVENTION THIRD LP TITLED "UNHALFBRICKING"
ISLAND ILPS 9102 FIRST PRESSING
RELEASED 1969
This is your opportunity to own a beautiful copy of a very rare 1st pressing of this LP on Island Records. Contrary to popular belief, this is the absolute original 1st pressing of this album with the block Island logo. Later copies have the white 'i' as opposed to the block Island logo. This first edition was printed for around 6 - 8 months, before later copies were printed with the 'i' logo.
Vinyl condition: I would not hesitate to say near mint. There is a beautiful shine on the vinyl, and seeing as it is 43 years old, it really is in an amazing condition. There are one or two faint hairline scratches on each side, but this in no way affects the playing quality of the vinyl. You will struggle to find this album in a better condition anywhere. There are very faint spindle marks on each side near the centre, but these are only noticeable when held to light. The label itself is clean and unmarked. The matrix numbers are A111 and B111.
Inner sleeve condition: Slight yellowing near the base of the inner sleeve, with very light creases / folds present. The inner sleeve is otherwise unmarked and in an excellent condition.
Outer sleeve condition: Almost immaculate. The sleeve looks almost new, with only slight fading on the spine of the sleeve. There are no markings, discolouration or ring wear on the outer sleeve. The glue has given way holding the outer sleeve ever so slightly near the base of the sleeve, however this is likely due to the age of the record and has naturally dried out over time. The inner folds are perfect and undamaged.
This record is a genuine first pressing and is printed and made by Ernest J Day & Co. This vinyl has been well looked after and will be a fantastic acquisition for the new owner.
I have attached many images of the vinyl, the sleeve and the outer sleeve, however if you require any further pictures, please do not hesitate to contact me.
