Falla Nights in the Garden Argenta UK SXL 2091
Famous 1959 recording of Manuel de Falla’s “Nights in the Gardens of Spain”, and the Rodrigo “Guitar Concerto” with Narciso Yepes and the National Orchestra of Spain conducted by Ataulfo Argenta. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2091), the labels have a full frequency stereophonic sound “fatband”, ffss logo, “Original Recording…” at 10 o’clock and a groove. The record is of worn appearance with some scuffs and small scratches on the second movement of the Rodrigo click (mostly softly) at times through the track. Otherwise it plays and sounds very well with some surface noise. The cover has rubbed badly with a number of small creases.
