Farewell Blues & Gulf Coast Blues

Eva Taylor on a 12" Okeh original

This surely has to be the first blues record on a 12" disc.  In fact, you might even make a case for it being the only acoustic blues record on the 12" size.  It is an original Okeh recording, number 3055.  Eva is in fine form on both sides, and Clarence Williams' Blue Five provide a suitably hot backup.  Being a 12" disc, there is lots of room for instrumental breaks and solos.  At first glance, the record appears to be in E+ condition, but on closer inspection I found a couple of very small scratches on side 1 and a light scuff on side 2.  These are cosmetic only, and do not sound during playback, but I'm going to grade this one an E- just to be on the conservative side.  So here you have a great classic blues record, in excellent condition, a unique 12" issue, and a disc that rarely shows up for sale.  What's not to like?  Bid accordingly.  Shipping in USA is by Media Mail - Priority Mail available upon request for an additional fee.
