This ORIGINAL Jamaican Orchid Records single features a wicked, broiling Black Ark riddim cooked up by Lee Perry anchoring the answer 45 to his previous 7" production with calypsonian Lord Creator, "Big Pussy Sally". As David Katz writes in his masterwork THE GENIUS OF LEE "SCRATCH" PERRY - PEOPLE FUNNY BOY: "Though Island chose not to issue some of the singles Perry provided them with in 1976 like Junior Dread's 'Sufferer's Heights' or Devon Iron's 'Catch Vampire', they did issue the outrageouly filthy "Big Cocky Wally", an inverse re-cut of the 'Big Pusy Sally' calypso by Fay Bennett; though the song was too rude to have much impact; its heavy breathing and excessive dub showed that Perry had no plans to tone down his material for international release." Yes, it is over the top, and the dub is the best, but what else would you expect from the UPSETTER! The omnipresent moaning voice-overs double tracked on top Fay's hilarious vocals make this Wally a must. Enjoy this great anthem and arrangement from Doctor Dick aka Lee Perry.
