Description

Tribe - Female Trouble. Big Harold's Records, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada,1976. BH-1005. LP, vinyl, record. Sleeve is in very good plus condition with some corner / edge wear, a bit of age toning, a little ring wear and a production crease to the paper covering the sleeve at the lower rear. The vinyl is in very good plus condition with a bit of light scratching. $4.00 s+h.

Tribe were a first nations rock and roll band from Calgary, Alberta who revolved around frontman Peter D’Amico. The album “Female Trouble” was a concept album, revolving around the theme “Female Trouble” and was recorded on Big Harolds Records BH 1005 in 1975, which was based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The album features six originals and six covers: A Sweet Dream/ Bo Didley/ Play the Odds/ Parchman Farm/ Young Girls/ Hey Good Lookin' // No More Reruns/ Hit The Road Jack/ Cry of the Wind/ Rock and Roll Queen/ Groovin'/ Shotgun. There are no credits on the album. The trademark of the band and the finale of the album title is ‘Shotgun’ a track featuring triple basses, so you can see where this album was going. Peter D’Amico has won several aboriginal awards. He produced a few albums in Calgary including Indian Jacks “The World of Indian Jack and His Friends” album in 1984 and The Nex’d “Surreal” (EP) in 1985.
