Firebirds by Prince Lasha and Sonny Simmons.

Original copy. Rare. Not many of these available. Contemporary Records S7617 stereo. Released in 1968.


Vinyl and cover condition is VG+. A nice copy!



This great LP features Prince Lasha on alto sax, flute and alto clarinet, Sonny Simmons on alto sax and English horn, Bobby Hutcherson vibes, Buster Williams bass and Charles Moffett on drums. Prince Lasha is known for co-leading a group with Bobby Hutcherson and Sonny Simmons for recording with his wife the trumpeter Barbara Donald. They both also worked w/the great Eric Dolphy on his Iron Man recording. Both are masters if their instruments and are great composers as well. For those who appreciate free jazz and improvisation will appreciate this record.
