Blue Note BLP 1503 Amazing BUD POWELL Bud Powell - Time Waits. Original Blue Note Mono LP. BLP 1598. You probably know this if you are looking, but there is no Lexington by this number, this is the first labels ever for this lp. The difference in colour of the labels is the fault of my camera, the colours are the same on the actual lp.
47 West 63rd. labels both sides, both of which are deep grooved as shown, with RVG stamped in the run out grooves And Ear, which is of course really the plastylite P in cursive script. No inc, no R, this is the real deal in lovely condition, not overplayed as I am listening to it as I write, and all is clear and lovely on my ortofon mono cart through a high end system. This is a much more interesting album than vols 1&2 which I know well. It is almost as if his pianism and composing skills are raised a notch by this time.
Record has near mint playing surfaces and Excellent labels, sleeve has some light age spotting to rear, which has the 43 west address to it, very light blue marks near bottom may have come from being stacked with another, nothing serious, as this has no splits, pen marks, bends. Pretty good for a 1950's Blue Note, not one that went to parties or got played to death. Will send all of it in a new Poly outer, lp behind sleeve in a new lined inner. I have heard this throughout and it plays excellent on an ortofon mono cartridge, through a valve phono stage.
