Description
After recently going through my attic getting ready for our forthcoming move, I stumbled accross my old record collection which if I am honest, I had long forgotten about as I no longer have a record player and in truth I haven't owned one for well over 10 years. As such, in an effort to make some space I have decided to offload my collection.
The gem of my collection is probably this LP which still has the original poster, the 7" single "Submission" and as far as I am aware, has never been played. This said, please assume used just in case it was ever played without my knowing.
The history behind this LP is that when my uncle bought this back in 1977 my Grandmother confiscated it straight away and hid it away in her wardrobe to be forgotten about. Only years later when she died was it rediscovered.
Unfortunately having been hidden away in a wardrobe and then subsequently my attic for the best part of 35 years, the corners are a little worn and there is a smudged fingerprint just under the 'K' of "Bollocks". In addition to this, I assume that where other records have pressed on to this LP there seems to be an almost perfect circular imprint about 2mm in to track 5 of side 1 'Problems' but perhaps this is meant to be there as it looks remarkably symetrical right around the whole track??? (sorry I have no idea).
Anyway - the low down;
Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols LP – UK 1st edition on Virgin Records from 1977, Plain Pink Rear Sleeve; 11 tracks on LP (LP code V 2086-A3) and comes with the one-sided 7” single of Submission (VDJ 24 A-1) and a mint copy of the promo poster.
My wife has told me not to sell this as she is convinced this will be a Classic LP of the future but what is the point of moving it to another attic with the prospect of it getting broken???
The front sleeve is in good condition with few light markings, with a little wear on the corners.
The rear, plain pink, sleeve is fairly clean for its age with a few smudges which may be able to be cleaned away with due care and attention; nothing inconsistent with its age.
The LP itself looks immaculate with the only blemish being as described above to track 5 on side 1.
The 7” single also looks immaculate.
The inner sleeves for both records are the simple plain white paper bags that they came with and are in perfectly good condition for their age and original quality.
The poster is still in the original packaging (obviously opened) and is in mint condition this is the real deal; a true (punk) rock artefact of historical significance. Good luck bidding on this one, sorry for the high start price but this is nothing compared to what these records are fetching at present.
If you want any further pictures or if you want to clarify anything whatsoever about this record, please ask and I can e-mail photos to you or answer any questions.
Postage details, please note carefully.
Postage will be by Royal Mail 1st Class ‘Signed for’ in the UK. I will do these not signed for but this is entirely at your own risk. Ask for the cost when you win the item but as a guide, 1-2 LP’s 1st class would be £2.70 or for 2nd class£2.20.
All overseas items will be sent basic airmail. Please ask before bidding if insurance is required.
I apologise that most of the format of the above advert has been copied from someone that sold a copy of this record recently (sold for £113 but did not have the poster and was not in such good condition) but having never sold records previously, I did not know where to start!!! Good luck all.
