MFSL 1-012, 1979 Analog.  Original series of MFSL releases. Thin, very high quality vinyl pressed in Japan. Not 45 rpm, not a double album, not 150, 180 or 200 gram. No digital steps in production.

Possible collector record depending on your criteria

Overall a very nice playing album despite the age and use.

Cover and materials: See photos. Cover looks very good for age. Front cover very clean except slightest dents on corners.  Edge is worn across album name and other information Back cover has light to medium blisters along the glue edges. See pics. Protective cardboard liner just beginning to yellow, as is the original inner sleeve, which is also wrinkled and dog eared. Mobile Fidelity advertising insert and warranty form are in really good shape. Replacement inner sleeve very recent.

Label: Intact, no discoloration, no rough edges on spindle holes.

Vinyl: I do not sell vinyl with skips, jumps, extensive groove damage or significant warps. Very clean and shiny, only a few very subtle scratches like it was stored in a cardboard sleeve. I bought this used so that is just a best guess.

Note: As this is an album that is often approached very analytically, I am being very specific in my description. We all have experiences where a visual “minty” means pretty noisy once on the turntable. 

Please remember, all vinyl evaluations are subjective- below is how it sounds to me on a dialed in VPI Prime with 3D printed tonearm and Soundsmith Zephyr MK III cartridge (contact line diamond stylus). Sitting position is in equilateral triangle with the speakers. You may hear the album differently than I based on your equipment and ears. I am attempting to be very clear with the condition of the record as I hear it; please do not nit-pick and say “You missed two clicks” or other issues. If there are serious issues- please let me know.

Side 1 

Monday Morning- a touch of noise prior to song clicking in, may be some faint noise in background on more sensitive systems.It was very, very faint on mine. A touch of ticking/clicking noises at the end and into space between tracks.

Warm Ways: Quiet by beginning of song. A click after the first chorus. Some minor noise/ a tick as the song winds down and into the dead space.

Blue Letter: A tick around the first chorus and a couple light clicks at end and one quiet pop after track.

Rhiannon: A few ticks toward beginning. Some very soft ones in middle. A light pop and a tick at the end. Quiet between tracks.

Crystal: This is a quieter song beginning and still pretty quiet. Just a couple minor touches of noise.  Run out nose, especially at last loop.

Over My Head:  Fairly quiet but there is some very faint noise just before and into song beginning. Quiet as it really kicks in. Some toward end, including every damage that repeats 6 or so times during fade-out

Side 2

Stay You Love Me: A few seconds of light groove noise as it starts.  Very minor noise between tracks.

Landslide: A few very, very light ticks in background. Very slight groove noise on fade out.

World Turning:  Pretty quiet. A very faint bit of surface noise right at the end.

Sugar Daddy:   A touch of noise at lead out.

I’m So Afraid: Clean until the end.

Overall a very nice playing album that I hope will find a new home.

Price is set at the minimum I will accept with no reserve. I think it is very reasonable and takes the  condition into account. 

I ship for the exact shipping charge. Album will be cleaned and well packed in protective sleeves with album not inserted in jacket. If there is extra room in the box it will be taken up with bubble wrap or additional cardboard.
