Description
The "Early Masters" Collector’s Copy
This is a remarkably well-preserved original US pressing of the 1977 masterpiece, featuring a desirable "hybrid" of early Capitol masterings. I just wanted to add a bit about the smudges. So all the vinyls I’m selling are from a relative of mines friend. So there is a bit of smudging on there but no scratches whatsoever. I don’t have any experience with polishing vinyls or the utensils so I didn’t want to damage the gloss on the record because there’s a ton left!
• The Vinyl (Strong VG+): This disc retains a deep, high-mirror factory gloss. I am grading it conservatively as a Strong VG+ due to light topical surface dust and minor fingerprints. To maintain the integrity of the grooves, I have opted not to clean the disc, leaving the first professional cleaning to the buyer’s preference.
• The Dead Wax (The "DNA"): This copy features a rare and authentic hybrid pairing of early master plates: F11 on one side and F42 on the other. It also features the \bm 22664 Sheffield plating mark and the Winchester Rifle logo on both sides, confirming a high-fidelity early-run production.
• The Jacket (Near Mint): This record is a true time-capsule find, still housed in its original factory shrink wrap. It features a vintage Cavages record store price sticker and the original Grammy "Album of the Year" sticker. Corners are sharp and the spine is pristine.
•Extras: Includes the original 1977 lyric insert in excellent condition.
Summary: This is a "best of both worlds" copy—pristine outer packaging for the shelf and the legendary "F" code audio for the turntable.
