Description
Fleetwood Mac – Rumours – 1976 – Rumours is Fleetwood Mac’s most successful album and one of the biggest selling albums of all time, over the years clocking up 40 million sales. (A mind-boggling number. Hadn’t they heard of downloads in the seventies?). There was an element of voyeurism in the record’s success with couples in the band splitting up and re-coupling in different permutations, but what got most people in was the dialectic between the radio-friendly squeaky clean harmonies and its emotionally anguished undercurrent. Go Your Own Way. Indeed.
