Decca Mono Album LK 4649 Issued 1965
Matrix numbers:
ARL6515-1A
ARL6516-1A
As this record sold in very limited numbers the time I believe there was only ever one pressing.
This is believed to be his second album.
Includes 16 Tracks with extensive and fascinating sleeve notes.
Davy Graham was a ground breaking acoustic guitarist who developed his own revolutionary style combining folk music blues and jazz.
This style provided the foundation of modern acoustic folk guitar and went on to be developed by Bert Jansch, John Renbourne and Jimmy Page.
He is reputed to have invented DADGAD guitar tuning which is now widely used.
Unfortunately Davy made little progress developing his career as he had many problems with drugs. He recently died in obscurity.
I personally knew Davy in his hay day and found him to be an unassuming and very generous man.
I purchased this album myself in 1965 but I am now downsizing and disposing of my record collection.
I consider the condition of both the vinyl and the cover to be very good given its age and plays very well.
There is some slight crackle on some of the tracks only noticeable as the record is fairly quiet.
There is slight laminate uplift on the front of the cover and the back is a bit discoloured due to ageing.
