This is an auction for a rare Folkways Records “Anthology of American Folk Music; Volume Two: Social Music” box set. Set includes 2 LPs and handbook.Originally recorded in 1952, this set came out in 1967. Records are in good playable condition, with no major scratches. I’d rate them as VG, but will list these as G to G+ just to be safe. Both records have a semi-circle of label missing on one side, looks like an old tape-wound . . . please see image below.
Ex-library holding, but not abused by any means. Library catalog number and barcode are affixed to front of box, catalog number affixed to one side of each record.
Handbook is mint, edited by Harry Smith, with information about all songs recorded here. Box is in very good condition, but the back half is separated from the front half (the paper hinge is split).
I’m tempted to keep this one for my personal library, but I figure there are others who will appreciate it more than I do.
