Offered here is a beautiful vintage copy of the groundbreaking FORBIDDEN PLANET soundtrack featuring the pioneering electronic music of Louis & Bebe Barron.
This is the highly collectible Small Planet Records PR-001 gold-label edition, featuring the iconic Renate Druks artwork of Robby the Robot and the alien landscape. The album presents the Barrons' revolutionary electronic “tonalities” created for MGM's 1956 science-fiction classic.
The Barrons' work is historically significant as one of the earliest fully electronic film soundtracks. Their experimental tape manipulation and electronic sound design helped create the strange, otherworldly atmosphere that made Forbidden Planet such an enduring science-fiction classic.
