Description
Original pressing of Four Altos - Phil Wood, Gene Quill, Sahib Shihab, Hal Stein - original Deep Groove NY address Prestige 1957 LP! VERY VERY RARE ITEM.......
There are visible signs of use as this is an original. I have been collecting LPs for over 15 years and the LP plays very VG+ to EX but it has visible scuffs and one mark that can be felt but it plays through so beautifully.
It is a jewel to own a playable copy of this supremely rare LP, if you can find one, as this is an original. I have graded this as a VG only due to the visible scuffs and it plays superbly. There may be an random pop or some very light surface noise but it is VERY minimal in nature and never overcomes the beautiful music that are cut in the vinyl. GREAT PLAYBACK with no distortion and deep low and clean highs.
This is a score and any collector would be overjoyed to own this copy. i have enjoyed it and taken great care over the many years it has been mine.
The spine has been taped with clear scotch with precise and I believe preventative for preventative measure. the jacket has some aging and is still a sight to behold. (SEE IMAGES)
Mal Waldron and Teddy Charles wrote the composition and they are superbly written, performed, arranged, and recorded by Rudy Van Gelder. The Original NY address labels are complimented with his stamp in the dead wax.
