Description
All vinyl looks unplayed and is rated Excellent/NM. The covers are all in VG+++ to NM condition. All sleeves are original. The four LP's include some of the most popular records ever including Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez", Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture", Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", and Vivaldi's 'The Four Seasons". These are considered a must have for any serious music lover.
As an added bonus, one of the four discs is a "Promotion Only" copy; "Concierto de Aranjuez. "Promotion Only" pressings are intended for distribution to music critics and radio stations. Usually this means that the vinyl is an early stamper and considered more dynamic.

CBS Records (formally Columbia and now Sony) had a great classical seriesof reissued recordings called ‘Great Performances’. This was by farthe best of the classical series of the 1980’s. These are remastered analogrecordings from the late 1950’s up to the early 1970’s. Music critics havehailed these performances as among the best so I recommend them for folks whowant to expand their musical library but are bewildered by the choices available. CBS selected the top 100 performances intheir vast musical library based not only upon musical critics but populardemand so you can’t go wrong with any of these recordings. The series featuresconductors like Leonard Bernstein , Eugene Ormandy , Bruno Walter and George Szell with the NY Phil,Cleveland Orch, Philadelphia Orch, and many soloists such as Rudolph Serkin and Isaac Stern.
These albums were among a “treasuretrove” of collectible records I came across that had been carefully stored in aclimate controlled environment for many years. I have been sorting these out toassemble bundles of records that may be of interest to the discerning musiclover. The collection ranges from Rock,Jazz, Blues, Pop and Classical. There are many records which look unplayed andsome are still factory sealed. I’vevisually inspected these records and spun them on a Pioneer PL 540 turntablewithout a needle drop to ensure there are no warped records. The records were cleaned with a carbon fiberbrush and placed back in their original inner sleeve. The outer jackets of these “Great Performances” records are notcoated after printing so some of the jackets will show slight ring marks fromthe black ink rubbing off the record next to it. The original sleeves were plain whitepaper/plastic sleeves until the middle half of the series when the printed sleevelisted the entire 100 catalog. If an original sleeve was no longer usable a clean new MoFi was substituted.
