Description
Original black label with silver text. Stylized Transition logo on the label in black against a silver background. 10 tracks. Recorded in 1956. Complete with original notes in a small pamphlet. This pamphlet is composed of unstapled folded sheets that include text and 2 photographs of Thorne. I believe that this pamphlet is original as it was in the record sleeve. Most recorded tunes are standards played by pianist, Thorne, unaccompanied. Very rare.
Cover: VG(-) Some scotch tape repair along the top edge which has completely split. Also, scotch tape along the spine which appears to be only partially split. The bottom edge has 2" scotch tape applied near the inserted edge. Slight wear but graphics appear to be in fine condition. The tape is not very conspicuous. Heavy cardboard jacket.
Record: Fair + Visually shows light wear with some surface rub marks and some light brush-like surface rub marks. There are 2 short, light scratches on Track 2, Side B. In spite of the obvious markings the overall appearance of the record surface is relatively good. The markings are a factor in the surface noise but it would seem that the pressing quality is poor. There is considerable surface noise in the form of clicks, crackles and some general groove noise. The noise varies from track-to-track. The music is audible but noisy. Those interested should be aware of the surface conditions. Audibly checked.
