Franck Pourcel  - "Live For Life" / "Vivre Pour Vivre" - 1968 LP - on Capitol 6000 Records  - T 6259 - MONO

Extremely rare MONO pressing from 1968, of one of the rarer releases on the collectible Capitol 6000 label.

Never turns up in mono!!! - stereo copies (which are still very rare) are exponentially more common.

By late 1967 the major labels were rapidly phasing out mono catalogues.  New releases were offered in mono in only
tiny quantities, and were deleted and 'out of print' within a year, with all subsequent reissues being stereo only.

This particular title was NEVER REISSUED and was RELEASED ONLY IN CANADA!!!

Franck Pourcel (1913 – 2000) was a French conductor of Popular music and Classical music.

This LP is a real treat for the ears, with more than a few unexpected psychedelic accents!  Don't let the first
track throw you off, or the mild reading of hippie anthem "San Francisco":  Keep listening and you'll hear
backwards strings (Un Mode Avec Toi), sped up vocals (Mickey), sitar (Aranjuez), and more!

Pourcel really runs the gamut of moods and styles without ever entirely departing from the LP's "easy listening"
descriptor.   Very evocative of the times.  Would make a great film soundtrack or meditation record!

Perhaps this is what the 60s would have sounded like in an alternate universe where rock'n'roll never existed?

You must listen to the clips!  There is nothing else like this album!

Audio clips are unedited.  No noise reduction, click removal or EQ has been applied.  What you hear comes directly from the 'tape out' of
my 1950s tube amp into my computer's audio interface.    Stereo tracks are played on one of Audio Technica's higher-end consumer cartridges
with an eliptical stylus tracking at 1.7g.  While this sort of cartridge represents what this disc sounds like on the typical mid-fi home audio system
your results may vary depending on your turntable, cartridge, and stylus.  Mono tracks are recorded the same, but with channels combined in parallel.

Questions Always Welcomed!

Please disregard eBay's shipping estimates and wait for an invoice with the actual (usually lower) price.   If you reside in North America, Western Europe, Northern Europe, Australia, New Zealand, or Japan and have an established feedback reputation I will ship by the cheapest possible method.  You will receive an invoice within 24 hours.

Buyers in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Korea are strongly advised to opt for more expensive Airmail due to extremely long surface mail delivery times (as much as 8-10 weeks).   If you insist on the cheaper shipping by boat you must confirm that you fully understand that you may be waiting two months or more for delivery!

Registered shipping may be required to countries which are actively at war, have very poor postal systems, are in economic crisis, or have reputations for Paypal fraud (e.g. Italy, Greece, Ukraine, Israel) and/or for buyers with very low feedback scores.   Contact me before bidding for further details if in doubt.
