This record is in near mint condition and very rare. I have never heard anything like it. The dude is a unkown legend the vinyl is VG+ and the jacket is autographed by the dude. Pearl Records # 6 1965. Free Shipping No Overseas shipping.
Frank Amacker was born on the West End of New Orleans to a poor family of ten. His father died while he was in his teens, resulting in Frank taking odd jobs to support his mother and siblings. During the day, he washed dishes and at night he worked in clubs sweeping up. He taught himself the piano and was given an occasional lesson by club musicians. By 1915, Frank played piano in clubs and small concert halls and brothels in the red-light district.
During the 1950s, his reputation for telling the history of New Orleans Jazz grew and he was dubbed the ìMayor of Storyville.î He pleased tourists during a long career that lasted into his 80s
