1959 33 1/3 rpm LP release by arranger, conductor, and composer, Frank Hunter. This LP, which epitomizes the Exotica genre, might well be called the "Holy Grail" of Exotica records due to it's high quality and extreme rarity. Having had a copy of this LP ourselves for years, we can wholeheartedly recommend it. Copy at hand is an original first pressing STEREO copy, which heightens the listening experience immeasurably.

The following is quoted from the www.spaceagepop.com website:   "Frank Hunter's White Goddess is one of the incredibly great and incredibly hard-to-find Holy Grail albums that die-hard exotica fans spend years looking for. Marty Manning's Twilight Zone is another. Like Manning, Hunter was an unsung hero of the great days of corporate popular music production, overlooked by musical histories that focus only on the many stars they made sound good. And like Manning, he might have been completely forgotten were it not for the band of exotica fans who discovered one remarkable album that stood out from the rest of his professional works.   Like Manning's Twilight Zone, Hunter's White Goddess combines original compositions and standards, orchestrated and arranged for an unusual combination of instruments. Like Twilight Zone, it incorporates space age pop's favorite odd couple, the Ondioline and wordless vocals, as well as other space age pop regulars like chromatic bongos, Chinese bells, and the buzzimba. LP cover (great 'Cheesecake' cover photo of blured nude woman) shows moderate wear and tiny tear at top right, probably from an old price sticker. No stains, writing, splits, etc. Cover grade is Excellent.

Disc is housed in original KAPP inner sleeve with photos of other LP's of the same period. Vinyl (purple, brown & black label with company name in yellow) unfortunately shows evidence of careless handing by the original owner. Surface still has some gloss, but both sides are covered with many light to moderate scuffs, spindles and scratches. We are happy to say, however that none of these marks fall in the 'heavy scratch' category. Overall, sound quality is bright and clear throughout the record, with moderate crackling in the background. We are conservatively grading the disc at VG.
