Description
These 78 rpm Frank Sinatra records published by Columbia Records date to between 1943 and 1946, according to my research. This is an assembled collection, which is contained in a very sturdy album of the 1940s period. All of these records seem to me to be in very good condition with no scratches or other issues except as noted: "Oh What a Beautiful Mornin'" has a rub, which I tried to picture in the second picture of a record and White Christmas/If You are But a Dream, has a tight crack that may or may not be playable (I don't have a turntable to check with but I sure wish I did as I'd love to hear these). It can be felt on the "If...Dream" side, but not the "White Christmas" side. I don't know much about records except personal experience playing my parent's 78s in the 1950s, then my own 45s and 33s, none of which survived looking as good as these do. The first picture of a record outside the sleeve is representative of the records overall except as noted above. The covers have some soiling as pictured, which I have not addressed beyond dusting. The 12 record titles and recording dates (release dates are all the same or the next year) are as follows:
I Couldn’t Sleep a Wink Last Night / A Lonely Way to Spend an Evening (1944)
People Will Say We’re In Love / Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’ (1943)
Homesick – That’s All / A Friend of Yours (1943)*
Nancy / Cradle Song (1944/45)
I Fall in Love Too Easily / The Charm of You (1945)
America, The Beautiful / The House I Live In (1944)
White Christmas / If You are But a Dream (1945)
Stars in Your Eyes / My Shawl (1945)
You are Too Beautiful / Full Moon and Empty Arms (1944/45)
They Say It’s Wonderful / The Girl That I Marry (1946)
Day by Day / Oh! What It Seemed to Be (1944/45)
Something Old Something New / From This Day Forward (1946)
