Description

For sale is Frank Zappa's Apostrophe ('), released by DiscReet Records in 1974. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers 1-A/1-A followed by a machine stamped picture that appears to be two rings representing a disc, completed by an old fashioned circumference gauge that represents the letter "A" of this logo. Some people refer to the symbol as " Circles and Sticks". These etchings indicate that the record was mastered at Artisan Sound Recorders of Los Angeles, California, before a first stamper was used to make this first pressing. These are all hallmarks of superior sound quality from state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing, highly sought after by collectors and music lovers. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve.  This preserves the integrity of the vinyl as well as any original insert(s) or inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. There are no original inserts or inner sleeves with this listing. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint and play graded as Near Mint. The cover is graded VG+ because of ring wear, corner rubs and stress cracks along the spine. The spine has color loss because of these cracks and rubs. This is the best copy of this hard to find record that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one like this one ever again. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life left to it yet. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection. I have more Progressive Rock albums, as well as records of all genres listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
