CRUISING WITH RUBEN & THE JETS
(UK VERVE, SVLP 9237, 1968)
RARE FIRST UK STEREO PRESSING of Zappa's legendary doo wop homage album! His first UK Verve pressings (the VLP/SVLP series) sold very little and hardly ever show up these days, Ruben & The Jets, Mothermania and Lumpy Gravy being the rarest. In my opinion, the stereo is just as rare as the mono in this case, they simply do not show up that often! This is the first I have had in a very long time. It's in lovely shape and, even more amazingly, is signed by three of the Mothers - Jimmy Carl Black, Don Preston & Bunk Gardner! I have no proof that they are genuine but being a longtime FZ collector and fan, these look real to me. I'm guessing they were done sometime in the 90s when they were all touring together. A rare enough FZ album with some signatures on top - excellent!! Great stuff! Don't miss out!
Vinyl is in EX(+) condition : three marks on side 1 which do not sound, no other marks, looks and sounds great, lovely loud pressing!!
Laminated flipback sleeve is in EX condition : light disc imprint, a few corner creases, spine has a few light creases but no wear, back has some light staining to the bottom right, nice shape overall!!
