Description
The Mothers of Invention, Freak Out! on Verve 5005. Original 2-LP set in stereo on blue Verve labels. Disks are very clean with full gloss, a couple of light paper scuffs and fingernail scuffs that do not sound. Records play brilliantly, with superb clarity and fidelity. Cover has some ring wear front and back as well as a little general wear, a small stain below and to the left of the "O" in "Out", and a name discreetly written on the back. Seams have splits, 2" on the top front pocket, 3" on the rear front pocket, fractions of an inch on bottom pockets at opening, and 2" at center of the bottom front pocket. There's a cut-out hole in the front cover only (i.e., it only goes through the frontmost piece of cardboard, no through the rear three. Inside gatefold has light general wear and aging, no writing or tears. Includes the "Planning on Visiting L.A. This Summer?" blurb promoting the (fictional) map to Freak-Out Hot Spots, which was removed from subsequent issues. Overall, a nice original copy of a legendary LP, and a great player.
