Description
This is a collectors set of 100 classical records featuring recordings of various classical works by various orchestras at different points in time.
50 boxes in various different colours, each containing two discs and with a description and numbering on the spine.
As far as I can tell from examining one or two that have been opened, they are all 33 rpm, pressed on red vinyl and each box comes with a letter describing the recording and also an illustrated booklet giving details of the history of the music, the composers, conductors and orchestras involved, words etc.
Only 6 of the 50 boxes have been opened and those that are opened will only have been played once or twice. I know this because my Dad bought them and he was abroad most of the time and didn’t have a record player! The only time they got played was on the odd occasion that my dad went to my uncle’s house to use his hi-fi and that didn’t happen often.
The other 44 boxes are wrapped in cellophane which has torn or split along the seal in a few cases over time, but the boxes have not been opened. Overall, the whole collection is in excellent condition.
These have been listed for a while and there are always watchers but no-one bidding. I need them out the house so if you want them now's the time to purchase as I probably won't be listing for much longer. I think the price is fair at around £2 per disc for a great collection for a vinyl enthusiast. They do have some sentimental value for me as they were collected over many years and at great cost by my Dad who is no longer with us. I'll take a near offer, but unless I can get close to £200 for them then I would rather give them to a good friend for free who I know will enjoy them.
Local pick-up preferred, but willing to deliver/meet within 1 hour drive of Buckhurst Hill for £25, further afield possible by negotiation. Let me know wherever you are, and maybe we can work something out. Sorry, no courier/postage as too bulky and difficult to pack.
