Description

You are bidding on a an unusual recording of Fred Waring's copyrighted vocal version of Edvard Grieg's children's musical masterpiece "Peer Gynt Suite". It is Decca Records #1001, extended play, 45 RPM, released in 1954. In Waring's own words: "In its own way, the 'Peer Gynt Suite' of Edvard Grieg seemed.....to invite a vocal and lyrical setting. The delightfully extravagant contrasts of mood, tempo and setting called strongly to be sung. Harry Simeone, our imaginative and usually unconventional arranger-composer teamed up with lyricists Buddy Bernier and Hugh Brannum to produce what you will find recorded here. I Think you will feel that they have done a thoroughly expert job and that you will enjoy wonderful, favorite old pieces in their new dress".  The new lyrics are Ase's Death, Anitra's Dance, Morning, and In the Hall of the Mountain King. The record and jacket are in very good condition.
