Description
Both labels have 47 West 63rd NYC address; 43 West 61st St. address at the bottom of the back cover. The record has the "ear" and "RVG STEREO" inscribed in the dead wax. Deep groove on both sides. 7 tracks of music composed by Freddie Redd, piano, with Jackie McLean, alto sax; Micheal Mattos, bass; Larry Ritchie,drums. The music was specially composed by Redd for The Living Theatre's production of the play, "The Connection", written by Jack Gelber.
Cover: VG Clean with a 1" split on the bottom edge at the insert edge. Some wear on all corners. Light aging on the back c over with light soil from ordinary handling and light foxing along the spine edge of the back cover (see scan). Gloss finished front cover.
Record: VG Visually the record shows light overall wear with several light brush-like surface rub marks on both sides and 1 surface rub mark on Track 1, Side 1. On Side 1, Track 1, 1 click on the first 1 or 2 revolutions followed by 3 or 4 light clicks and faint groove noise. The light irregular clicks persist throughout Tracks 1, 2, and 3. These seem random but are audible throughout the 3 Tracks on Side 1. Track 3 seems to have less noise except for a 1 or 2 more audible clicks at the end of Track 3. Side 2, Track 1 has faint groove noise on the 1st 2 or 3 revolutions. In general the condition is similar to Side 1, possibly fewer clicks and crackles. As on Side 1 these are random, mostly light and a few more audible. This condition is similar on Tracks 2, 3, and 4. Those interested should be aware of the noise described, light but persistent throughout. Audibly checked.
