Well this needs little introduction, and if a collector needs persuading about this album then I don't know why you would be searching for it!
RARE to see an unboxed copy, because it barely sold as an original issue when it came out.
Mistakes from the band management (Jonathan King) was to release this is such a PLAIN cover that has no info - not even track listing! Then there's the album title, straight out of the last testament and in gothis styled script - so anyone would have guessed that this was a religious document and far from being an excellent record by a quality rock band making their debut on vinyl!
Phew! WHAT were they thinking with this?
Anyway, it made this an obscure piece altogether and limited sales completely, to only those friends of the band or who may have heard them playing it live.
This particular copy was from a library - and clearly nobody even checked this one out either, as it is in STUNNING great shape and must have had VERY few plays before getting deleted out of their file.
On the down side the lyric insert is missing, but these are easily obtainable as the re-issues all came with the exact same sheet.
This lable is NOT easily found though, and it's the 'FFSS' pressing with large un-boxed 'DECCA' all in silver on royal blue. A BEAUTY!
You can see hundreds of 'boxed' copies that were issued later, and as they became more successful with 'Foxtrot' those proliferated and are often seen.
Musically really good, sensitively delivered songs that are so well crafted you just had to know that here was a talented band we'd have to hear more about.
The production could have been more 'upfront', but adjusting the equalizer to suit gets the best out of this. I would recommend that, as it makes all the difference.
The LP here is in WONDERFUL condition, so be a winner for this one!
The vinyl is SUPERB NEAR MINT- and with FULL shine, this plays and sounds exquisite, a fine example that has been carefully handled and played on the best equipment.
Lables are bright and clean, NM/VG++ (a small tear to the edge on side 2, probably from a 'SAMPLE' sticker of the library)
The laminated-top single-sleeve cover is VG+, having only light wear to the front, 2 drill-holes, and on the unlaminated back it has the library's stamped sticker.
The original blue-trim inner record-sleeve for Stereo copy is also included.
