Description
Funkadelic's Uncle Jam Wants You is one of the defining albums of the P-Funk era, featuring George Clinton and the band at the height of their creative powers. Originally released in 1979, this 1993 Priority Records vinyl reissue (P1 53875) was pressed during the final years of vinyl's commercial decline, making it a much scarcer pressing than many earlier editions.
Anchored by the legendary "(Not Just) Knee Deep," along with Freak of the Week, Uncle Jam, Field Maneuvers, Holly Wants to Go to California, and Foot Soldiers (Star-Spangled Funky), the album remains one of the essential releases in the Parliament/Funkadelic catalog. Its influence extends well beyond funk, with "(Not Just) Knee Deep" becoming one of the most sampled recordings in hip-hop and R&B.
