Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No.9
Wilhelm Furtwangler conducts Choir & Orchestra of the Bayreuth Festival.
With Schwarzkopf, Höngen, Hopf, Edelmann
German Electrola mono-pressing from the 50s with red Big Nipper labels, "33 1/3" in triangle on all four sides. Article-Nos. WALP 1286/87. 2 LP-box with booklet.

Condition Box: Strong EX to NM . As close to perfect as is possible for a box this age. Printing-colour on front (and on front & back of booklet) is still yellow-greenish, as is the linen edging, which speaks for this being a pretty early set, later boxes appeared to have grey colour all around instead.

Condition Vinyl: EX to NM . Records have some visible wiping from the rough innersleeves, but have obviously rarely ever been played. Plays with almost no surface-noise with my stereo-cartridge and should be close to perfect if played with a mono cartridge. One of the best copies of this recording I have seen so far. Massive more than 200g heavy discs.

All records are described as accurately as possible and I will always prefer a more detailed depiction of the actual status, but usually I’ll only visually grade the records.
