Background -
This item is FACTORY SEALED since 1976!!Ira Gale’s first audio project was not a speaker or a turntable, but rather producing a series of six classical LP’s under his own label called Gale Maximum Fidelity Recordings. Much coveted in the collector market today, each of these discs was supplied in a special “Black Box” package complete with a highly detailed booklet covering both the production and recording aspects of the disc in great detail. Each band is discussed, providing the history and inspiration of each choice. The technical discussion of the recording aspects alone are well worth reading.
Ira Gale produced six LP recordings of classical music packaged in elegant black boxes. Recordings were made without compression or any other signal processing, with a claimed frequency response of 27 Hz to 22 kHz, plus or minus 1 dB.
Dynamic range of the master recordings exceeded 86 dB. Gale Maximum Fidelity recordings were pressed from new compound of 95% virgin vinyl along with a lubricant, stabiliser, plasticiser, and carbon black.
Boxes were specifically designed to minimize warpage and were covered under a ten year warranty which could be exchanged for any reason (scratched, warped, broken, or even worn) once the enclosed registration form was completed. An enclosed booklet provided detail on both the content and recording process.
Gale Maximum Fidelity Recordings were distributed by audio-technica in the United States.
Stunning 1976 GERMAN made 2-LP Box Set - factory SEALED, so it comes complete with Deluxe Quality Card and 12-page Illustrated Booklet. A Rare Opportunity To Purchase This Gale Maximum Fidelity Recording. At The Pinnacle Of The Recording Art. Both LPs Are Pressed In Germany On High Quality, Heavyweight Vinyl.
One of the best records to show the purity of a speaker is a recording by the late Ira Gale (of Gale Audio). In 1976 he brought us J.S. Bach’s Complete Flute Sonatas performed by Christopher Taylor on flute, Leslie Pearson on harpsichord and Dennis Vigay on cello. This recording is outstanding for technical reasons, great care has been taken in microphone set-up and neither compression, limitation nor equalization is used before recording to two-track tape. Gale was a perfectionist. The speaker should reproduce the flute outstandingly well, bringing joy and excitement to the listener. The harpsichord is very clear next to the flute, both are natural and detailed, and nuances are easy to enjoy. You don’ think about soundstage, frequency range, distortion or any of that at all. You drown in the music itself, eyes closed, almost afraid to take a breath as if it could disturb the performance. No matter how beautiful Gale recordings are, they are no longer available (all out of print). - The-Ear.net
