Description
FINE example of post-punk band's acclaimed debut single - from my own personal collection and bought by me within the first week or so of being released in 1978.
Iconic magenta and black/white paper sleeve is in very good+ condition with slight edge wear/creasing around the edges and minimal ring wear - all consistent with a record of this age that has been handled and played with what I would describe as reasonable (and loving) care.
No dings, dents, splits or other wear and tear. Seams are still firmly stuck together - in fact, this is in remarkably good condition for its age.
Black and white Fast Product labels are in excellent condition.
Vinyl in very good+ condition with a few light surface marks consistent with pulling in and out of sleeve/playing on decent hi-fi separates system. Both sides still play really well with no background hiss or clicks etc.
You can tell this is a first pressing because a) "dp delta press limited" is printed on the reverse left-hand folded edge but no catalogue number b) slot at top of reverse side is long with straight edges and c) labels are white with black text. Track times appear hand drawn - 3 min 35 secs for Damaged Goods, with B side songs Love Like Anthrax at 3 min 17 secs and Armalite Rifle at 3 mins 05 secs. These times are different on second pressing.
Also, "A SPIKEY SPECTACULAR" and "FAST 5 - 1" are hand etched into A side runout here. These are missing on the second pressing.
A lovely authentic post-punk must-have for anyone of a certain vintage who wants to replace a missing/lost/stolen copy or a newer fan with a gap in their collection.
