Description

Greetings! You are viewing a pair of 10 inch 45 RPM acetate records from an UNKNOWN ARTIST.
These recordings remain a mystery indeed, but will appeal to the true connoisseur of rare, wild, obscure GARAGE PUNK mayhem as recorded in mid-1960s North America. Despite a search for more information, my own investigations have yet to shed any light on the recording artist. What details I have gleaned from handwritten notes on the sleeve and labels will be listed below, along with more information on condition.
As noted on the labels, the two songs appear to be titled  "A New Place"--( https://youtu.be/OZCF__4nGlA  )and "Another Day" -- ( https://youtube.com/shorts/d8oyD4Mx6bo?feature=share  ). They are both marked "Ref Copy", assumed to mean reference copy. In the top right of both sleeves is what appears written "Att:Altshuler" or "Att: Altshule"-- some research has led me to believe this could be a possible reference to Ernie Altshuler, a producer who worked around the time these recordings are presumed to have been made, however this is not confirmed. There is also some type of catalog number written on both sleeves, "JOB92664".
The records are a bit heavier than other acetates I've come across in the past. I have play tested both of them and found each to be a STRONG VG. Please see photos for further evidence-- the groves appear clean and to my eyes little played, however a bit of dust and residue has accumulated due to long term storage by the previous owner.
"A New Place" has a bit of an up-tempo, primitive garage sound, similar perhaps to The Wailers or other Pacific Northwest garage punk bands. "Another Day" is a bit more on the ballad side, but still a decent little slice of primitive garage rock. If you're the type of collector after one-of-a-kind, raw garage unknowns, raised on Teenage Shutdown and Back from the Grave compilations, these records will be a welcome addition to your collection.
