It plays perfect even if it has a few non feelable hair lines on the A-side.
A notorius collector should describe it as an almost perfect copy!!! but it is impossible to tell exactly when it comes to metallic acetates...
The label has "Gary & Stu" + some "*" snowflakes written on both sides.
Condition of the sleeve: Thick cardboard sleeve without any text. Probably manufactured at the Emidisc factory in the UK?
No split seams or other defects.
Description:
This little 'treasure' is more than what any POP PSYCH collector can take. Listen to Gary & Stu can bring an almost orgasmic feeling for a music lover with the addiction of dreamy POP PSYCH. When all undiscovered psych mine´s have been located then Gary & Stu will stand for themselves!!!
As any collector am I driven by the desire for new kicks. To find an ACETATE with psychedelic material is like an outside-the-body experience.
I held this metallic LP with my sweaty hands and my knees start trembling. What a discovery!!!!
Few copies are around today by the Harlan Fare LP and I can guess that this ACETATE is the only remaining copy on earth!!!!???
The sound is melodic and gentle. Soft with baroque arrangements predominates the album. Tyrannosaurus Rex and early Duncan Browne comes up when I shall try to describe the style.
The guys are Gary Sulsh (ex-The March Hare, ex-Harlan County) and Stuart Leathwood ( earlier a member of The Koobas).
Side One of their album starts with 'Harlan Fair'. (misspelling of “fareâ€)
This track has a light "psyke feel" with a flute intro and some soaring strings. It's beautifully well done and should appeal to the less rock-obsessed psych fans.
'Man of Many Faces' is slow and very attractive. Delicious in its mellow-dramatic way.
'Hey Man' is a chunky boogie tune with brass.
'Rainbow Coloured Morning' is a nicotine-stained "psychedelic piece" but still a very beautiful slice of well-crafted pop and the instrumental break by the guitarist and flute player is heavenly done!
'Lemon City' is slick 'n' catchy pop beater with a sixties' organ sound.
'Sweet White Dove' is a love song, and also released as a 45†by Gary & STU with the song 'Good Lady Fair' on B-side.
Side 2.
'Long Long Line'. Is a bombastic and commercial early-70s pop slinger, but very solid and really good.
'Darlin' Jill' is a light folk-pop song,
'My Daddy Was A Movie Star' is a fragile beauty. An acoustic ballad with a really nice production.
'Good Lady Fair' is charming with harp and some minor twists.
'Peek-A-Boo' is a throwaway juvenile bubble-pop stomper.
'Country Fever' is a country ballad with steel guitar.
'Harlan Fare' is the best possible album to buy in this genre. Be the proud owner of this ULTRA RARE ACEATE of GARY & STU´s fine work!
