"A Winter's Tale" / "One Eyed Hound"
RARE A-Label promo sample 7" single: "A Winter's Tale" by Genesis,
released in May 1968. On the B Side is "One Eyed Hound". It was produced by the
young Decca label manager Jonathan King, who discovered them in 1967 while they were still students at Charterhouse School, King's own school. One of their demo tapes caught
King's attention, and he took them under his wing. The original line-up of Peter Gabriel,
Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Anthony Phillips was augmented by schoolmate
Chris Stewart on drums. "A Winter's Tale" was their second single, issued before their
debut album "From Genesis to Revelation" was recorded. Both of these tracks were only
available on vinyl on this single. This rare A-Label promo single is in the original EMI
Parlophone paper sleeve. The A Side label features a blue "A" on a blue EMI Decca label,
and the words "Sample record - not for sale". An extremely rare single, especially in such
top condition - it almost never comes up for sale. A must-have item for Genesis collectors!

Sleeve: Very good, considering its age; pretty smooth and
clean; some very light creases around record shape.
