Description
Very RARE limited run EMI 100 Centenary 180 gram audiophile LP -- GENESIS - Selling England By the Pound - 1997 EMI/Virgin / 1973 Charisma UK - LPCENT 17. Very hard-to-find 1997 issue from EMI and Virgin Records, celebrating the first 100 years of EMI and the recording format. This was an excellent series, which included several EMI artists (Kate Bush, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Roxy Music, several more), and limited edition 180 gram LP pressings (long out-of-print). Originally released in 1973, many consider Selling England By the Pound to be one of the best albums from Genesis. Here, Peter Gabriel is still in command on lead vocals, and Steve Hackett steps out front more, further defining his unique guitar sound. Vinyl is graded as Near Mint ...beautiful, glossy ...LP not likely played more than a couple of times. LP enclosed in original protective inner sleeve. Gatefold jacket/cover is in excellent condition ...original EMI 100 sticker still affixed in upper right-hand corner of front (see photo) ...entire gatefold, inside and out, still retains original glossy finish. Enclosed in a protective poly outer sleeve. Stored in a non-smoking environment. Please ask questions if you are unclear about this or any of my other auctions.
