Gentle Giant
"Amongst The Darkers" Kornyfone 1975 Private Live LP! No Reserve!
Gentle Giant - "Amongst The Darkers - Behind The Few - The 1975 American Tour" The Amazing Kornyfone Record Label TAKRL 1983. Super Hard to find Collector's Private Original press Live Prog Album from the Gentle Giant featuring Derek Shulman, Ray Shulman, Kerry Minnear, Gary Green and John Weathers! The recording was made at the White Plains Music Hall, White Plains, New York, on October 3, 1975 and consists mainly of material from "In A Glass House", "Free Hand" and, "The Power And The Glory". This was the next to last TAKRL release, and thus, very limited.

In super condition! The generic white sleeve with loose Orange printed Insert is still in it's Original Shrink Wrap and is easily Near Mint! Please note - any marks, streaks or blotches that you may see which are not mentioned in the write up (like those in the upper right corner of the cover) are scanner artifacts, not defects in the record cover... I will list any actual defects! The vinyl is likewise super! There may be a slight sleeve scuff or two if you really look close but basically in Like New (possibly unplayed...) condition and easily Near Mint! The white "World Records" (a TAKRL off shoot) labels are also Near Mint and (I think) mean a First pressing with Virgin Vinyl. There is a flaw with the labels that I should mention. There are actually two labels glued on one side of the record, one on top of the other. The top one is just barely glued on along the edge and, because of that, has torn. You could probably peel the top label completely off easily enough or glue it all the way down. Not much of a big deal but wanted to mention it.

Song List

• 1. Cogs In Cogs
• 2. Funny Ways
• 3. The Runaway / Experience
• 4. So Sincere
• 5. Free Hand
• 6. Just The Same

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:

Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.

Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.

One other caveat... As most of you looking at this will know, some of these old Private, Fan, Underground LPs don't have the greatest recording fidelity or pressing quality. Of course, some are really nice. In any case, I assume that if you bid that you understand this. I am not responsible for any potential disappointments in sound quality. Even more than usual, these are graded strictly on a visual basis.

I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over eleven years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
