STRONG ALBUM from this UK progressive rock institution - arguably one of their most acccesible releases combining complex twists and turns with a slightly commercial edge. By this point they had of course developed a sizeable following both at home and abroad but, conversally, there was absolutely no sign of them invading mass conciousness ala Genesis, Jethro Tull or Pink Floyd. The simple explanation for this was that GG refused to compromise their musical ambitions, forgoing the yankee dollar for a life in the progressive rock slow lane playing to a converted but vocal fan base or college graduates and loner-misfits. No girlfriends please.
'Giant For A Day' is a forceful advancement of their masterplan. The time signatures are encouragingly difficult, the playing wildly inventive and the arrangements over ambitious - but never too ambitious to replicate in concert. Contains some great tracks including 'Little Brown Bag', 'Words From The Wise', 'Thank You' and 'Friends' amongst others.
Great copy.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Nice clean copy. No visible spindle marks and very little signs of any use. Grades as MINT-!
Cover: This is the original matt finish 1st press cover - quickly replaced by a shiny almost gloss finish. Again, virtually no signs of use. Grades as MINT!
Inserts: Original inner cardboard lyric sleeve and cut out 'Mask' insert.
