GENTLE GIANT - OCTOPUS
Original 1972 UK 1st press of this prog gem - lovely copy with impressive audio throughout

Jet black sheen, and solid very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl, in fact just about as close to excellent as you can get without actually being excellent, and it's only just a few very, very light scuff lines and some very light and age "spotting" on the labels which prevents me from grading the condition of the vinyl as excellent. Apart from the non-obvious age spotting and the usual few small and very light spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. the condition of the labels is also very good plus (VG+). An excellent (EX) condition and highly presentable non-laminated Howards Printers outer gatefold sleeve with all of the colours, iconic art work, photos and text remaining beautifully intact. Each edge remains firm and unmarked apart from just a few tiny scuff "nicks" on the top reverse side edge, the spine remains rigid and near perfect (there is a very small - 1cm - and light surface cardboard crease adjacent to the spine about 6cm from the bottom corner which does ever so slightly impinge upon the spine at that point - trivial and non obvious), each corner is a near perfect right angle with barely any rubbing at all and the inside of the gatefold is hard to fault. The only blemish of note is some very mild ring wear towards the top edge on the reverse side (see photo). Excellent (EX) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference, or distortion and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum ie very occasional and very background. Great tone, crystal clear vocals and instrumentation and every track a great listen. Comes with original and excellent condition poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with no seam splits, barely any creasing and just a little age discolouration towards the edges.
A very nice copy of this 1973 UK 1st press prog gem with the excellent sound quality being a real highlight.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
