Description
On sale here is a UK first pressing of GENTLE GIANTS 1972 album entitled "Three friends".
This album is on the UK Vertigo "swirl" label. Has the large swirl to one side of the label and comes in the swirly poly- lined inner sleeve.
Matrix numbers are 1Y//2 and 2Y//2. (both followed by the stamps 1 1 1 1, making this a very early one). The rear cover has the "VO Price code" credit.
The gatefold cover has minimal shelf and storage wear and easily grades at least VG+.
The inner sleeve has minor wear and age discolouration but also easily grades as VG+.
The labels and vinyl (visually) grade at near excellent. A deep glossy black sheen. Labels show around 6 / 8 spindle marks to each side. There is only one mark of note to either side. Nothing alarming, but do cause a couple of soft clicks and very light pops for a handful of revolutions.
The sound quality is really good. There is some light background noise here and there, but never obtrusive. For a vinyl of this age I have no problem grading this album (aurally) as VG+. Some might grade higher, I don't know.
All in all, still a very creditable example of this sought after classic seventies album.
I have estimated the cost for overseas postage at £13, to include "signed for" and insurance. This will vary by country of destination, so is going to be accuratly found after the sale. The estimated cost is a maximum figure. Postage within mainland UK is estimated at £2.75. If the actual cost is less I will (as I always have done) refund every penny over the true cost.
