Description
GENTLE GIANT "The Power and The Glory" UK 1st PRESS EX+
1974 WWA w/LYRIC SHEET, SUPERB SOUND, GREAT COPY
GENTLE GIANTThe Power and The Glory
ORIGINAL UK WWA RECORDS (WWA 010 DE LUXE) FIRST PRESSING (August 1974) OF GENTLE GIANT'S TREMENDOUS SIXTH LP "The Power and The Glory" - IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION (probably only played once or twice) AND IT DELIVERS CRYSTAL CLEAR, CLEAN, SHARP AND BRIGHT AUDIO THROUGHOUT - LOVELY COPY OF WHAT IS, IN MY OPINION, THEIR FINEST PIECE OF WORK - GREAT STUFF
PRESSED WITH THE FIRST ISSUE BLACK/SILVER WWA LABELS
MATRIX: WWA 010 A//3 ∇ 420 0 1 2 6 / WWA 010 2Y//2 ∇ 420 0 1 1 2
THE RECORD IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL FULLY LAMINATED TOP LOADING SLEEVE WITH ROUNDED CORNERS
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL (AND OFTEN ELUSIVE) LYRIC SHEET "Manufactured and printed in England"
Track Listing:
Side 1: Proclamation / So Sincere / Aspirations / Playing The Game
Side 2: Cogs In Cogs / No God's A Man / The Face / Valedictory
LABELS: Clean, unmarked labels with just a couple of light spindle traces - NEAR MINT
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces still retain their original deep, glossy sheen. Under a bright light there are some light marks on the surfaces and the outer edge of Side One has a light brush/scuff mark - but non of these have any real audio consequence (they are purely cosmetic) - the playback is superb - EXCELLENT
VINYL Audio: Outstanding audio reproduction with a crystal clear, sharp and bright sound and on playback at a loud volume there are no major audio issues of note - no scratches, no loud clicks or pops (pretty exceptional for this pressing in my experience) and very little surface noise - just the occasional light static touch on some of the track divisions and on some of the quietest passages - but very, very minor and non-intrusive. Critically graded a strong EXCELLENT(+) for audio this is a very nice copy indeed which plays beautifully throughout
SLEEVE: The fully laminated single sleeve with rounded top corners is clean, bright and fresh with a deep, glass-like glossy sheen to its surfaces. The edges and spine display practically no wear at all and all spine text is clear and bold - EXCELLENT+
INSERT: The lyric sheet, printed on glossy paper (on one side only) is clean and unmarked with just some light creasing - EXCELLENT
