Description
This is a genuine, original Souvenir Programme from the “Guitar-In” concert at the Royal Festival Hall, London, on Monday 25 September 1967, featuring THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE, Bert Jansch, Paco Pena, Sebastian Jorgensen & Tim Walker, and Michael Rosen.
According to the programme notes, Hendrix was at the time “scorching up the charts” with Burning of the Midnight Lamp.
The concert was promoted by the Liberal Party in aid of their Anti-Racism appeal.
The programme has 12 pages including the card covers. Full page on each artist (2 on Hendrix) with black & white photos. Also includes ads for concerts by Tom Paxton and Al Stewart, and other contemporary ads and announcements with lots of period detail, setting the scene for this unique event in the heyday of Swinging London.
Programme measures 9.25 x 7.5 inches (25 x 19 cm) approx, stapled with card covers, complete & intact, no loose pages. Slight dogearing and surface wear, with wear to top right corner. Slightly creased (item has been folded lengthways at some time, but stored flat since). Despite these issues, still an interesting, enjoyable and collectable piece of history.
