GEORGE HARRISON, Wonderwall Music, original 1968 first UK issue.
SAPCOR 1, original dark green Apple record label.
This album was the first to be issued on the Beatles own ‘Apple’ record label, as it carries the Apple catalogue reference of: ‘SAPCOR 1’.
An original first UK 1968 stereo issue album in original condition, featuring:
1. first UK issue, 1968 record labels, with the text, ‘Sold in UK’, etc,
2. first UK issue 1968 dark green Apple label on side one,
3. originally released in the UK back in 1968 at about the same time as the Beatles ‘White Album’, the record labels should have included the text ‘An EMI recording’, but this was left off these very early Apple labels in error,
4. as this was the first album to be released on the Beatles own Apple record label, there are possible signs that it was rushed released as the records original matrix has been crossed out on each side of the ‘run off’ groove, see photo and an amended matrix engraved below it,
5. first UK 1968 issue fully laminated sleeve made of thick quality card.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition. The sleeve is laminated front and rear. There is just one small ‘thumbnail’ laminate crease to the front. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained very clean and sharp. The spine is in excellent condition, it has remained clean and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. Near to the top, front right corner there is a small area of laminate loss.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period EMI, plain white circa 1968 inner sleeve with the text, ‘Patent applied for’. The sleeve has square corners and is made of quality heavy grade paper and has a textured surface to the inside. The two opening edges have remained very clean, a well preserved sleeve for its age. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve.
THE RECORD: side one is in excellent condition. Side two is in excellent++ condition. The record is made from the period, 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy and doesn't look as if it has been played very much.
The matrix are: SAPCOR 1A - 1 and SAPCOR 1B - 2, the original matrix ?, of STAP 1A - 1 and STAP 1B – 2 has been engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove on each side, but has been ‘crossed out !’, see photo.
The mother/stampers are: ‘1 H’ and ‘1 O’.
THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent++, it plays with excellent quiet grooves. Side two plays excellent+ with some light ‘crackle’ heard here and there, but in general it plays with excellent quiet grooves. It plays with a full, powerful loud period stereo sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in excellent++ condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
