GERHARD TASCHNER / BEETHOVEN VIOLIN CONC. ROYALE 1307
Gerhard Taschner, violin accompanied by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Leopold Ludwig playing Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61 – Rare Original 1952 US Mono LP on Royale 1307 – Please Note: Both on the cover and on the record label, the violinist’s name appears under the pseudonymous of Jan Balachowski and the conductor’s name appears under the pseudonymous of Gerd Rubahn. This is, however, a performance considered to be played by Gerhard Taschner with the BSO under Leopold Ludwig in a live performance on March 19, 1948 in Berlin's Titania-Palast – Cover Condition: VG++ (some shelf wear) / Record Condition: VG+ (some few light surface hairline scratches, some graying; plays well with noticeable background surface noise, which I believe is typical of these early 1950's Royale pressings which had poor technical quality).
