Description
GERHARD: THE PLAGUE – DECCA HEADLINE – HEAD 6
1973 (issued 1974) Decca stereo recording in Headline series catalogue number HEAD 6 with narrow band label. Roberto Gerhard’s 1964 work for orchestra, chorus and narrator based on The Plague by Albert Camus, translated by Stuart Gilbert. Antal Dorati conducting the National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Washington D.C. with Alec McCowen (narrator).
The disc has VERY faint surface marks but plays perfectly apart from 2 light ticks on Side 1. The text insert is excellent. Sleeve is intact but rather scruffy with edge/corner wear plus creasing and record impress.
