GERRY MULLIGAN QUARTET & TENTETTE COMPLETE PACIFIC JAZZ/ CAPITOL MOSAIC 5LPs with CHET BAKER Mosaic MR5-102
Here's the original 5LP set of this monster accomplishment of Mosaic Records in the early 1980s. If you're looking at this auction I'm guessing you know something about the music content. I don't know if these LPs are 180-gram vinyl, but the weight of the set of five created a problem with the material connecting the two main pieces of the box. (Check out the pic.) Otherwise, the cover is good. All LPs are visually mint, but sonically they aren't CD perfect. All have surface noise, but it's below average noise for early 1980s vinyl. (Don't know who pressed these.) There are minimal ticks throughout. NO SKIPS! All LPs have the standard Mosaic poly inner sleeves, clear on one side. All in good shape. The extensive liner notes/ booklet is in great shape and included. These additional notes: S2-T5 somewhere between a tick and a pop- light scratch? two revolutions and finished. S3-T2 a couple of ticks that are louder than ordinary. S6-T5 Nearness of You- a few more ticks than ordinary. S10-T4 as song completes loud tick. S10-T6 scattered ticks during Konitz solo.
