One of the great statements of jazz in the 1960s - Stan Getz and João Gilberto team up to make one of the most beautiful bossa nova albums ever made, featuring Antonio Carlos Jobim, and of course, João's wife, Astrud Gilberto, who was recruited to sing The Girl from Ipanema, and thereby became a sensation. This is the original first pressing mono LP on Verve V-8545. The disc is in beautiful condition, with a few superficial sleeve scuffs, perhaps, but plays just about perfectly. Amazing, wonderful sound. The cover, too, is in unusually great condition, with only the faintest ringwear on the back, and very very light edgewear at the top and bottom. Really a beautiful cover; they are usually much more worn. This is a really lovely copy.
