GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : film d'avventura e fantascienza ambientato nel diciannovesimo secolo.

Notes : an adventure and science fiction movie set in the nineteenth century. In view of these requirements, Gianni Ferrio opts for wide-ranging compositions of symphonic nature without renouncing to spice his musics with a touch of sophisticated originality. Ferrio has never been a banal composer. So in the opening theme (a1) we are seduced by the magical atmosphere reflected by sweet sonorities and beautiful female vocalizations which we find in "La Ballata del Marinaio Pencroft" (b4), however a more dour theme than the first. The characteristics of the symphonic compositions are crossed by exotic shades as in "Il Capitano Nemo" (a4) where sitar and other slight and almost elusive sonorities create an effective mysterious atmosphere. We find again the sitar in the last track on the album, "Le Ultime Ore del Capitano Nemo" (b6), which along with the orchestra underlines the ending of the story with sad melodies.
