GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musica composta e diretta da Gianni Ferrio. Belle composizioni dalla struttura complessa che per una ragionevole semplificazione possono essere divise in tre distinti gruppi. Il primo deriva dal brano iniziale del lato A " Un Giorno In Più " a cui fanno seguito nelle tracce successive altre cinque variazioni da questo tema  (3a / 4a / 6a - 1b / 4b / 7b).  Loro caratteristica peculiare è un’atmosfera malinconica, con una valida costruzione che di volta in volta dà la preminenza a un particolare strumento come armonica, piano, chitarra….con l’accompagnamento dell’orchestra. Ritmi assai più vivaci per non dire scatenati sono nel secondo gruppo guidato da " La Gabbia ". Brano condotto da uno scatenato basso con elettrizzanti assoli e un riff potente ben supportato dalla batteria e da interventi dell’organo di sapore funk. Due le variazioni da questo brano, "  La Gabbia - Arrivo in Città " dal tessuto sonoro molto percussivo e con un vivace ritmo funk e " La Gabbia - Sequenza " sempre funky e caratterizzato dalle sonorità ben marcate della sezione fiati, del basso e della batteria con un finale sorprendente che si manifesta in una serie di pause che sembrano indicare il suo termine ma che invece riprendono dapprima con un’interessante miscela fra sinfonia e psichedelia e successivamente con particolari sonorità d’avanguardia. Nel terzo gruppo i brani che non hanno altre versioni. Fra questi: " Morning Blues " tema melodico con una strizzatina d’occhio al jazz, " Labirinto " ottimo ballabile con una ritmica veloce condotta dall’organo Hammond e da un buon fraseggio del batterista, la simpatica " Quando Mi Dici Così " di gusto dixie eseguita dall’organo.

Notes : music composed and conducted by Gianni Ferrio. Beautiful compositions from complex structure which can be divided into three distinct groups for a reasonable simplification. The first comes from the opening track of side one " Un Giorno In Più "  then followed in the subsequent  tracks by  five other variations on this theme (3a / 4a / 6a - 1b / 4b / 7b). Their main characteristic is a gloomy atmosphere, with an effective construction which in turn gives preeminence to a specific instrument like harmonica, piano, guitar .... with the accompaniment of the orchestra. Rhythms from lively not to say wild sonorities are in the second group starting from " La Gabbia ".  A track led by an unrestrained electric bass by the thrilling solos and powerful riffs well supported by drums and organ from funky flavors. Two variations from the latter  " La Gabbia - Arrivo in Città " from the percussive sound tapestry and a lively funk rhythm and " La Gabbia - Sequenza " yet funky and characterized by the remarkable involvement of brass section, bass and drums and with a surprising final part which includes a series of pauses in seeming to indicate the end but as a matter of fact resuming with an interesting fusion between symphony and psychedelia  and then with special avant-garde sonorities.  In the third group the tracks without another version.  Among them: " Morning Blues " melodic theme with a hint of jazz, " Labirinto " amazing dance tune from the  fast rhythm led by Hammond organ and good drumming, the enjoyable " Quando Mi Dici Così " from the taste of dixie performed by organ.
