Description
Every Tuesday night (European time) I will offer old punky records. My name is ‘punky_music’
Legendary Mod Revival classic from lovely London....and in near mint condition. The GIFTED CHILDREN are TELEVISION PERSONALITIES in disguise. eBay prices: £102 + £101 + £100 + $175. You are bidding on the original first pressing with HE PAINTED THE WORLD, STEPPED INSIDE AND SHUT THE DOOR etched in the run-out groove. Issued on England’s cult Mod label ‘Whaam’ in 1981. It is also the first label release (catalogue number Whaam 001). As you know ‘Whaam’ records was administered by Dan Treacy of TV PERSONALITIES and Ed Ball of O-LEVEL and TIMES. This first label release includes the Mod foot stompers ‘Painting By Numbers’ and ‘Lichtenstein Girl’. The A-sider was born with fantastic lyrics like:
When I'm Rich And Famous
To New York I Will Go.
I Will Talk To Andy Warhol
On My Own TV Show
And Then I'll Go To Russia
To Paint The Kremlin Blue
To Paint The World By Numbers Is All I Want To Do
Please do not miss this British model, issued on the highly collectable 'Whaam' label. As you know label mates are the TIMES (Red With Purple Flashes) DIRECT HITS (Modesty Blaise) and so on. Cult ! Cult ! Cult !
